For years Frank Carver has been paying attention to the strange world of convergent technology. During that time he has discussed and researched broad subject areas, come to some surprising conclusions, produced and distributed digital media, scattered ideas and opinions like sparks from a firework, and above all consulted for businesses both large and small to help develop and deploy successful systems, services, and products in this highly complex arena.

This doesn’t surprise me at all. I’ve not had a telephone attached to my land-line since I moved into my current flat. Infact the only reason I have a line at all is to provide ADSL service over it. It irritates me that I have to pay subscription charges for a voice service I don’t use.
I wonder how long will it be before OFCOM force BT to separate out the cost of the physical connection (which I do want) and the voice service over it (which I don’t) and allow me to just pay for what I want.
