We have been running daily stand-up meetings for well over a year now, with generally good results. Occasionally we hit some speed-bumps (at the moment, one problem seems to be that the group of participants is a bit too large, but splitting the group does not seem useful either). Such meetings are obviously personal and vary between teams and situations, but it was good to read an article (and comments) about effective stand-up meetings.
many developers intuitively understand the benefits of working in small tightly-focussed teams. Apparently, one way of determining whether your team is an appropriate size is using Pizza as a measure. Seems an interesting idea, although I have yet to find any definition of what sort (and crucially, size) of pizza should be used.
